Chaz Schilens Impressive |Player Rankings
I was so impressed by what I saw with Chaz Schilens tonight that I had to do a special write up for this second year player out of San Diego State. Chaz was a late round pick in the 2008 NFL draft and was a raw talent (as many rookie receivers are) that needed to prove he was more then just his physical gifts.
Well it looks like Chaz has found his groove as he now stands in as a very interesting sleeper fantasy receiver for the 2009 season.
Cowboys vs Raiders PreSeason Game
In June I had a back and forth with a Raider fan or two because I didn’t give Chaz any credit for being a weapon in the Raiders passing offense.
At that time I wanted to see more from Chaz then just a nice end of the season and a good OTA. Well tonight I got a front row ticket to the Oakland Raiders No.1 receiver for this season as he had a very impressive game.
Young quarterbacks tend to lock onto one receiver and that is a good thing in fantasy football if you own that particular receiver. JaMarcus Russell clearly locked onto Schilens as this receiver had a very nice 5 catches for 52 receiving yards in the first half.
Like many Raider players Chaz is a good athlete as he is 6’4 , 225 pounds and runs a 4.3, 40 yard time. Look for this second year receiver to be a big time sleeper fantasy receiver for your fantasy football team as the Raiders are growing in the passing game.
Fantasy Football Information for Chaz Schilens
I didn’t think Chaz would be draft worthy coming into the 2009 season but he has proved my thinking wrong. This kid won’t be one of the top players off the board but he is draft worthy for your fantasy football team.
Look for Chaz as a very nice sleeper receiver and a late round stash away for your fantasy team. This kid has all the tools to be a successful player. He is the true No.1 receiver for this team and is the favorite target of JaMarcus Russell and that is a good thing for his fantasy value.
