Colts vs. Lions

The Lions and Colts faced of in the third week of the preseason as Calvin Johnson returned to the lineup. This game was not all that exciting but their are a few notable things worth expanding on.

Calvin and Kevin Look Sharpe

Both Calvin Johnson and running back Kevin Smith look primed for a good start of the season as they face the Saints week one. Today Calvin had 4 catches for 67 yards as his stats were highlighted by a nice 37 yards catch.

It’s nice to see Johnson on the field as he had missed some time with a finger injury but now he look ready to role.

Indianapolis Colts v Detroit Lions

Kevin continued to impress as he had eight carries for 50 yards rushing and three catches for 33 receiving yards. This guy is clearly a three down back and should be a productive fantasy football player in 2009.

Daunte Culpepper Should Start

Today Daunte Culpepper had the better game over rookie Matthew Stafford going 7 of 12 for 67 yards and a touchdown pass.

Stafford had a decent game going 13 of 19 for 160 yards passing but for the third preseason game in a row he was picked off.

Look for Culpepper to be the starter week one as it would do Stafford some good to sit for the first 4 to 8 games of the season.

Dallas Clark Scores

Last week we saw Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzalez both score touchdowns and this week it was tight end Dallas Clarks turn to score. For the game Clark had 6 catches for 63 yards and the score.

Look for Clark to have a strong season this year for fantasy football as he is a hands down top 4 tight end this season.
