Former Washington Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann speaks with Tom Brady and Randy Moss

For the third preseason game this was the kind of performance fantasy owners wanted to see from Tom Brady and Randy Moss. On the other side of the football Jason Campbell didn’t throw a touchdown pass but he did have his first good showing of the preseason.

Randy Moss Scores Twice

In the first 15 minutes and three seconds of the game, Randy Moss had 6 catches for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns of a distance greater than 20 yards. This was the kind of dominant performance that makes fantasy football owners excited about what this offense can do when healthy.

Early on in this game Tom Brady and the Patriots offense looked much like the offense we saw in the 2007 season. That year the Patriots had one of the best statistical season for an offense in NFL and fantasy football history.

The night would have been a perfect story but late in the second half of the game Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth flopped on Tom Brady and dinged up Tom’s throwing shoulder.

Brady did come back onto the field with the team in the third quarter but did not play.

Hopefully this injury is just a minor problem and the Patriots can get back being the dominant fantasy force of 2007.

Jason Campbell has a Good Showing

Campbell did miss Santana Moss for a long bomb that could have went for a touchdown but other than that he had a good game. For the night Jason was 13 of 22 for 209 yards passing. In his production he did lead the team down for 17 first half points.

If Jason can perform like he did tonight into the regular season it will help this team make a run for the playoffs this season. Hopefully when the games count he can get those wide open touchdown bombs he missed on tonight.
