Seahawks vs. Chiefs

The Seahawks and Chiefs matched up for the third week of the preseason in Kansas City. This week the Seahawks started the game slow on offense but picked up the pace before the end of the first half.

The big news of the day was Matt Cassel’s knee injury during the teams first drive of the game. So far the word out of the Chiefs organization is that Matt’s knee is fine and he is probably going to be listed as day to day.

Seattle’s Passing Game Should be Good

I did not get a chance to watch this one but my Dad (the Reddog) did watch it at his house on the NFL channel. From what he gathered the Seahawks are indeed running a face paced offense as they are getting up to the line quickly and playing up tempo.

While I was a bit concerned about the Seahawks offensive line from what Reddog was telling me they held up fine on the road at Arrowhead Stadium. Since that particular stadium is one of the loudest in football, it is a good sign that the line handled their business well, in that environment.

TJ Houshmandzadeh and tight end John Carlson both scored in the game and I believe both are primed for strong years this season.

Matt Cassel and the Chiefs

The last time I can remember a quarterback going down like this was when Trent Green went down in preseason 10 years ago. Fortunately for the Chiefs it looks like Matt will not be done for the season like Green was in that season.

If Cassel is out for awhile the offense should be in good hands with Tyler Thigpen at the helm. Tyler didn’t have a great night tonight be he is more than proven from his great second half from a season ago.
