Kansas City Chiefs v St. Louis Rams

Quarterback Matt Cassel was obviously not going to be playing in this game and I was interested to see how the quarterback play would fair in this one.

Larry Johnson Plays Well and Tyler Thigpen Does Not

Larry Johnson had a strong showing as he had only 5 carries but he had 58 yards on the ground. This is a good showing for a running back that fantasy owners can get for a very reasonable price this season.

While Johnson played well I was disappointed to see that Chiefs backup quarterback Tyler Thigpen did not have a good showing. For Thigpen to only have 2 completions on 7 pass attempts and 2 interceptions, does not say much for him.

Seattle Seahawks v Kansas City Chiefs

This is a better quarterback than his numbers showed tonight and one has to wonder if he is having trouble picking up the new offense.

Brodie Croyle may very well end up being Matt Cassel’s backup this season instead the Thigpen after this poor performance.

No matter who the quarterback is next week the Chiefs should struggle as they face the Ravens in Baltimore.

Rams Report

The Rams are not going to be a good team this year and are probably one of the top five worst teams in football. This is not surprising as they were the second worst team in the league a season ago.

I do like the direction this team is heading in and I also believe they will have a good second half of the year.

Kansas City Chiefs v St. Louis Rams
For the first half of this season however they will probably lose often as they are a jelling team and have a very hard schedule in the first half.
