Kansas City Chiefs v Minnesota Vikings

The starters got the night off for both the Cowboys and the Vikings tonight. While most of the players that will make opening day are chosen there are always a few spots that are still undecided.

Ian Johnson puts up a good showing

Ian Johnson will always be remembered for the bowl game that he participated in with Boise State when they took on Oklahoma. In that game ironically it was Adrian Peterson’s final game in college and Boise State beat the Sooners at the end.

Tonight Johnson was in a fight to make the Vikings roster and he performed well with 61 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also added three catches for 26 yards in the passing game.

With that said I wouldn’t be surprised that the Vikings would cut him as they have a good depth of running backs on the team already.

Dallas Cowboys v Minnesota Vikings

If Johnson should be released than I believe he will be picked up fast from another team.

Cowboys Report

Not much happened in this game for the Cowboys other than it was nice to see the defense have some success in the turnover department.

It looks like the Cowboys should have receiver Roy Williams ready for week one and they will need a good start against the Buccaneers.

This is an important season for this team and I do believe they will make the playoffs in 2009.
