New York Giants Eli Manning puts his hand on the back of Mario Manningham in an NFL Preseason game against the Carolina Panthers at Giants Stadium

Tonight the Giants and Patriots rested their starters and let the backups fight it out for roster spots in the final preseason game. One of the more interesting battles for fantasy was the Giants receiver battle.

Sinorice Moss and Mario Manningham battle for roster spot

In a battle for what should be the final roster spot on the Giants receiving core, Mario Manningham and Sinorice Moss had good nights.

Manningham had 4 catches for 74 yards receiving, which was the high for the night amongst Giants pass catchers.

Moss on the other had had two receptions for 35 yards and both catches went for touchdowns.

Out of the two receivers I would expect the Giants to keep Manningham over Moss as Manningham has a cheaper contract and has flashed more skills in the special teams department.

Moss is now a first round pick bust as he is now in his 4th season with the team and only has a career total of 38 catches for 403 yards with two touchdowns in his career. Look for this receiver to be picked up by another team should he be released by the Giants in the coming week.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis Should win Roster Spot

The Patriots have a gaggle of running backs and BenJarvus Green-Ellis should be on this teams opening day roster. Sammy Morris has not practiced or played during August and should be the likely running back cut off of the team.

If the team should in fact cut Green-Ellis there is not way they will get him back as someone is sure to claim him.
