Oakland Raiders v Seattle Seahawks

Tonight the Raiders played their starters for a little while as the Seahawks rested most of their starters. In this game newly signed Seahawks running back Edgerrin James did play for a short while.

Edge Plays

This offseason Edgerrin James has been looking for a new home and finally last week he found one in Seattle. After the Seahawks signed James they quickly sent T.J. Duckett packing and will use James as the No.2 runner.

James did work tonight for a little while as he had three carries for 11 yards on the ground.

Other than that his game belonged to rookie quarterback Mike Teel and running back Justin Forsett. Both of these players should make the team as they are decent young players to have for an offense.

While Forsett will see time in the back filed this season, rookie quarterback Teel will probably have to wait a few years before he see’s regular season action.

Teel did however show why he is worthy of a spot on the roster as he 11 of 19 passing for 148 yards and 2 touchdown passes.

For now this is Matt Hasselbeck’s team but in a year or two Teel may get a chance to at least be his backup. For now at best he will just be the teams No.3 quarterback.

Raiders Report

At least the Raiders played a fair game overall after they were embarrassed at home last week against the Saints. This team has a lot of growing up to do and right now JaMarcus Russell needs receiver Chaz Schilens back and healthy.

This should be a long season for the Raiders until they start playing mistake free football.
