Braylon Edwards Traded to New York Jets | NFL Football Player Rankings

New York Jets v Cleveland Browns

It looks like the Monday night incident was the final straw between Braylon Edwards and the Cleveland Browns. Today, on October 7th the team has officially traded Edwards to the New York Jets.

In compensation for Edwards the Browns get receiver Chansi Stuckey, a linebacker and two draft picks ( expected to be a 3rd and 5th).

Did the Jets Tamper with Michael Crabtree?

I find it interesting that at the same time Michael Crabtree signs with the 49ers, the Jets deal for Edwards. A few weeks ago the 49ers filed tampering charges against the Jets for contacting Crabtree about a contract.

At this piont in time, nothing conclusive has been proven against the Jets.

Braylon Edwards Impact on the Jets Offense

Look for Edwards to be the true No.1 receiver the Jets have been waiting for as Mark Sanchez has himself another weapon. Edwards should play for the Jets this week in Miami against the Dolphins.

Tennessee Titans v New York Jets

It should take Edwards some time to learn the playbook but once his gets more established he should be productive.

In the long run, I like Edwards being in New York much more than being in Cleveland. The Browns organization needs a lot of help and they don’t have a productive quarterback.

At least the Jets are a winning team and it is easy to see that Sanchez is growing.

The fact that Edwards is out of a dumpy organization and on a winning team should help with his productivity.

Braylon Edwards Fantasy Football Ranking

Right now, you might want to have Edwards on your bench for a week or so to let him get adjusted to the Jets. That being said, Edwards probably has a better chance of producing for fantasy football owners this week in New York as opposed to Cleveland.

The very fact that I just told you he has a better chance with New York, this week, should tell you how bad it is in Cleveland.

As time moves on, Edwards will at the least be a serviceable receiver for your fantasy football squad.
