Redskins: Santana Moss is the Lone Ranger | NFL Football Rankings

Buccaneers vs Redskins

In the past couple weeks Santana Moss has caught fire and has helped carry fantasy football owners to victory. While Moss has basked in the sun shine, other fellow teammates are in fantasy football purgatory.

So far, this season Moss as a total of 17 catches for 293 yards receiving and two touchdowns. If he continues this pace than he will finish the season with almost 1,200 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.

Can Moss Stay Hot?

It is obvious that the Redskins are built to run the football, and it is also obvious that Clinton Portis is not what he once was. With Portis on the decline, the team will probably have to lean on Jason Campbell and Moss more often.

Buccaneers vs Redskins

Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas have had an inability to mature and be a factor in the passing game. Both receivers were second round picks in 2008, and they should be producing at a higher level for this team.

Since these receivers have failed to get it done, Campbell has no other choice but to rely on Moss and tight end Chris Cooley.

Both pass catchers are reliable and have an opportunity to help out your fantasy football team.

Fantasy Football Ranking for Santana Moss

Right now, Moss is an every week fantasy football starter in any scoring format. The Redskins are desperate for production on offense, and they will continue to get the ball in his hands.

Hopefully, Moss will stay healthy as this has been a major problem of his in recent years.

Until the time of injury occurs, I would keep this explosive wide out in your fantasy football lineup.

you make some good points. I have both cooley and Moss and would hate to start 2 players that are on the redskins. except for the detroit game, cooley puts up consisten numbers (PPR league)but Moss has the big game ability (detroit game). What should I do? start cooley or moss

This is a very solid question.

So far, this season tight ends have light up the Panthers' defense. At the same time, they have done a decent job against top receivers.

However, receiver play this year in fantasy football has actually been worse than last season.

If you care to, I would like to know what other receivers you have on your team and how many do you have to start in a week.

Also, do you have another solid tight end as a backup like Eagles tight end Brent Celek?

In the end if you're not strong in your depth (or your depth is on bye weeks) you could do much worse than having Cooley and Moss in your line up right now.

The Redskins are having problems running the football, and whether they like it or not they need Jason Campbell to win them ball games right now.

For the most part, he only has two players to rely on, and they are your guys.

Cooley should remain a great PPR tight end for his receptions. Moss is the one big play man they have on the team right now.

In the next two weeks the Redskins face the Panthers and Chiefs. Your should get production in those games.
