Colts- Jaguars: Peyton Manning Throws Four TD’s | NFL Fantasy Football Rankings
Fantasy football owners were forced to decide if they should start their fantasy players from the Indianapolis Colts this week. Since the Colts had already won home field in the AFC before this game they had the ability to rest any player they choose.
That meant that if a fantasy player your counting on had an injury tonight there was a good chance they would be done for the game right away. In the end, Pierre Garcon was the only fantasy player that fell victim to this situation as he suffered a hand injury and left the game.
Peyton Has Great Night
Fantasy owners with Peyton Manning were hoping he would have a big night in a very favorable matchup against the Jaguars’ defense. This was one night that Manning didn’t disappoint as he threw for 308 yards and four touchdown passes.
This production can be in part credited to the Jaguars’ offense as they continued to put points on the board which forced the Colts to score more points.
Because of this back and forth scoring Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark and Austin Collie all had solid nights for fantasy owners.
Clark had his second big game in a row as he had 95 yards receiving and two touchdown catches. Wayne put the game away with a 65-yard touchdown catch on a third and five long bomb touchdown pass.
This was a huge week for fantasy owners with these players as we are in the second week of the fantasy playoffs, and it is key to get your star players to perform well for you.
Next week the Colts will have a much harder game at home against the Jets.
Garrard, MJD and Walker Play Well
The Jaguars’ offense has lacked fantasy production in recent weeks and many fantasy owners probably didn’t start receiver Mike Sims-Walker. For those of you that did you enjoyed a solid night from the teams No.1 receiver.
For the night Walker had six catches for 64 yards and a touchdown catch. This was a good game from Walker, and hopefully he will continue to play well next week against the Patriots.
David Garrard and Maurice Jones-Drew also had rebound games as Garrard threw three touchdowns and Drew had two scores and 140 total yards from scrimmage.
This was a good night for Garrard but a huge game for Drew in the sense that fantasy owners needed their stud to produce after a few bad weeks.
Playing the Colts was just what the doctor ordered as Drew was able to bounce back and show that he still has energy left in his legs.
