Dolphins- Patriots: Davone Bess Plays Great | NFL Fantasy Football Rankings
This win appeared to be the Patriots for most of the game but the Dolphins came back and snagged it away. The Patriots are now 7 – 5 and the AFC East is still open for the Jets and Dolphins to come back and win.
Davone Bess Comes Up Big
The Dolphins have been looking for a receiver to step up and be the main man on the team. Of late that receiver’s name is Davone Bess as he’s been Chad Henne’s top target for a few weeks now.
This week Bess had ten receptions 117 yards and a second half touchdown score. Bess seems to be a receiver that likes playing in the final weeks of the season. This is a little funny considering that Bess plays football in Miami and went to college in Hawaii.
You would think a player that comes from that background would be a strong starter and a poor finisher because of the weather. In Bess’s case that is just the opposite as he was strong to end last year and is finishing well this year.
Bess makes for a good No.3 fantasy receiver option going forward as his chemistry with Henne is too good to deny.
Field goal kicker Dan Carpenter also had a strong performance going three of three on field goal tries. The Dolphins young kicker is turning into a fantasy relevant player as his team is putting up another good season. The fact that Chad Henne looks like a solid quarterback should help Carpenter in the future.
Patriots Start Hot and End Cold
Tom Brady and the Patriots started this game red hot until the middle of the third quarter. At that time, the wheels came off and the Dolphins took the game over.
For fantasy football this performance was a great on for owners with Brady, Randy Moss and Wes Welker but for the Patriots it wasn’t so good. I do believe this could be a strong positive that this team lost (from a fantasy perspective) because this team will have to run up the score to make sure they win games.
Now, the Patriots can maybe only afford one more loss for the season if they are to win their division and maintain a home game for the playoffs. Look for Brady and the boys to continue to play solid football going forward.
