Eagles- Giants: DeSean Jackson Keeps Rollin’ | NFL Fantasy Football Rankings

Giants vs. Eagles

The Eagles and Giants clashed for the right to stand a top the NFC East with a victory. This game was supposed to be a defensive clash but instead turned into a wild offense scoring feast. In the end, the Eagles put up 45 points and won the game by a touchdown.

How Good is DeSean Jackson?

It’s time to give DeSean Jackson his due and say that his is an elite top ten fantasy football receiver. In this game Jackson had six receptions for 178 yards and a another long touchdown catch.

Not only did Jackson burn up the Giants’ field in the receiving game, but he also had a punt return for a touchdown.

Philadelphia Eagles DeSean Jackson catches a 60 yard touchdown in the third quarter against the New York Giants at Giants Stadium

This season Jackson has almost 1,000 yards receiving in twelve games played and seven receiving touchdowns. Jackson has also helped the Eagles and fantasy football owners out in the running game with eight carries for 125 yards and a touchdown run.

This season Jackson has 10 plays of over 40 yards as a receiver and as a runner alone.

In the punt return game Jackson has a 17.8 yard per return (That’s amazing for punts) on 23 attempts for over 400 yards and two touchdowns. If you get credit for his touchdowns in the punt game than he has added value there as well.

Jackson is probably the most explosive receiver/ punt returner in football and this is only his second season as a receiver!

Look for Jackson to continue to grow in the passing game next year as he makes for a great No.1 receiver to have on your fantasy football team in 2010.

Lenard Weaver Taking Over?

Last week LeSean McCoy put up a horrible effort against the Falcons as it was clear to see that the Eagles were using a committee of backs to run the ball. Now it looks like full back Lenard Weaver is doing his best Le’Ron McClain impersonation from a year ago as he is taking over.

If Brian Westbrook stays out for the rest of the fantasy football season you might want to give Weaver a look if your desperate for a runner. Weaver led the team in carries this week and received the goal line work.

McCoy is not an option for fantasy owners from here on out.

Eli Manning to Hakeem Nicks

It looks like Hakeem Nicks is going to be the Giants big play man for years to come after all. The first round pick from April’s draft had a few hiccups this offseason and had to fight his way through a bounch of talented receivers to get to this point.

In this game Nicks received his first opportunity to start in his NFL career, and he didn’t disappoint fantasy football owners with his four catch, 110 yards and a touchdown performance.

Giants vs. Eagles

Nicks may need to work on his ball catching skills, but it is clear to see that he is the most explosive receiver on this team and is clearly better than Mario Manningham.

As far as Eli Manning goes, he had a fabulous night for fantasy owners. In this game Manning threw for 391 yards and three touchdown passes as he helped fantasy football owners to playoff victories.

This week Nicks, Manning and the Giants’ offense have another good opportunity against the Redskins on Monday night.
