Jets- Colts: We Have a Shonn Greene Sighting | NFL Fantasy Football Rankings
With a 15 to 10 lead over the Jets, head coach Jim Caldwell decided to do what fantasy football owners feared as he pulled his starters. This ended many fantasy owners hopes for production (if they started them) as the offense didn’t have a touchdown pass in the game.
Breaking Fantasy Owners Hearts
For such a great game last week against the Jaguars, the Colts’ fantasy players like Peyton Manning, Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne had a completely different game this week.
This was a very disappointing situation for fantasy owners to have to decide on as this team played so competitively last week. The Colts probably tipped their hand when they signed practice squad quarterback Drew Willy on Saturday.
With an extra quarterback on the team, it seemed likely that the Colts were serious after all about sitting their players no matter the situation.
Hopefully, fantasy owners can remember a solid season from their respective Colt players and not only remember this unfortunate week to end the year.
Greene and Jones Pound Out Victory
I’ve been surprised that the Jets haven’t used rookie running back Shonn Greene more since his big game against the Raiders in week seven. That week Leon Washington broke his fibula and the team could have used Greene to carry the football more.
This week Greene did get a chance to produce as he had 16 carries for 95 yards on the ground. Expect the Jets to give him the football again next week as the team will continue to play conservative with their young quarterback struggling.
Even though Greene had a good game that didn’t stop Thomas Jones from having another strong game as well. For the game Jones had 23 carries for 105 yards and a touchdown run this week.
Jones was a pick to be a bust this year by just about every fantasy website on the web. While many picked Jones to be a bust he had another strong fantasy season as he produced all yearlong.
