Saints- Redskins: Robert Meachem Leads Wild Win | NFL Fantasy Football Rankings

This game looked like a victory for the Redskins until the Saints made another huge comeback and won the game in over time. The Saints now stand in a 12 and 0 on the season and have officially won the NFL Southern Division.

Robert Meachem Is Growing Up

For the past two seasons Saints receiver Robert Meachem has been a receiver that just about only catches touchdowns. Coming into this game Meachem had one touchdown for every three catches he had.

In this game Meachem took another step in his progression as a player with eight receptions for 142 yards receiving and a huge touchdown catch to tie the game up at the end. Not only did Meachem have a touchdown catch, but he also had a 44-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown as well.

This was the kind of play the Saints have been hoping to see from their former first round pick of three years ago. If Meachem can continue to progress throughout the rest of the season, he will have much added fantasy football value coming into next season.

Devin Thomas Shows Life

This off season the Redskins beat writers and team were talking up second year receiver Devin Thomas as a player that had matured and might be ready to start. In the middle of preseason the team grew frustrated with Thomas’s short comings and favored fellow second year man Malcom Kelly to start instead.

Most of this season Thomas has been a zero factor, but he is starting to pick it up of late. In this game Thomas easily had his best game as a pro with seven receptions for one hundred yards and two touchdown catches.

With Thomas and Jason Campbell’s emergence over the past couple week’s, Thomas now makes for a solid waiver wire pickup before the fantasy playoffs.
