Bills- Colts: Fred Jackson Leads Buffalo Win | NFL Fantasy Football Rankings
The Colts played their starters in the first quarter of this game and after that they gave the game to their backups. Much like after the Colts starters left last week their opponent took control and won an easy game.
The Future Isn’t Bright
First off, let me say the Colts will be just fine as long as Peyton Manning is under center. If, for some reason, Manning should ever fall to a long term injury like Tom Brady did a year ago, this team would be in a lot of trouble.
Backup quarterback Curtis Painter looks more like a professional painter than he does a professional quarterback. Maybe this kid can continue to progress and improve this offseason but I don’t see this team as a playoff team without Manning in the lineup.
For two week’s in a row, we have seen opponents play like world beaters as soon as this kid and his backups come into the game. In defense of Painter, he doesn’t have players like Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark to throw at so I believe he would be more productive with the first team.
Hopefully, Manning can continue his healthy career and fantasy football owners will never have to see a day when this MVP quarterback is out of the lineup.
Fred Jackson Goes Off
The Bills were determined to get running back Fred Jackson over 1,000 yards rushing for the season after this game. Coming into this contest, Jackson had 850 yards rushing on the season and in this game he ran like a man hungry for a mile stone.
In this contest, Jackson ran the football 33 times for 212 yards on the ground. Not only did Jackson have a big day running the football, but he also flashed his receiving skills with an eleven yard touchdown catch.
Look for the Bills to continue using Jackson as a big part of their running game next year as Marshawn Lynch is in the dog house. Maybe Lynch can turn his career around if he gets the right coach in and gets a fresh start.
