Cardinals- Packers: Cards Win A Shootout | NFL Playoff Fantasy Football
It looked as if the Cardinals would roll to a victory after the first half of this game. With a 24 to 10 lead to start the second half, Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers started one of the greatest second half efforts in playoff history to take the game to overtime.
In the end, the Cardinals won on a defensive touchdown as the game ended 51 to 45.
Aaron Rodgers Goes Wild
In the second half of this game Rodgers threw for over 300 yards and led his team on five touchdown drives. This was an amazing comeback, and it’s obvious to see just how talented this young quarterback really is.
Look for Rodgers to be the top quarterback taken in many fantasy football leagues in 2010 as he has an amazing group of pass catchers around him and throws the deep ball better than anyone.
Greg Jennings also had a great game as he was one of Rodgers top targets in this one. It seems that Jennings has his best games when the Packers are in hard games to win. Maybe Jennings would be a good fantasy option next year if the Packers have a tough schedule.
Jermichael Finley Is Growing Up
The Packers starting tight end Jermichael Finley had a breakout year in fantasy football, but today he took it to another level. What makes, Finally one of the best fantasy tight ends is the fact that he can make big plays down the field.
At times, Finley is also used as a receiver in the offense as this team makes a point to get him involved, every week.
Look for Finley to be an even better fantasy producer next season as he is still maturing.
Kurt Warner Plays Great
Rodgers may make the headlines for his great comeback but Warner had a fantastic game in his own right. For the game Warner completed 28 of his 33 pass attempts for 379 yards and five touchdown passes.
Early Doucet, Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston all had solid games as Warner did a great job finding his three receivers. With the emergence of Doucet and Breaston, it seems realistic that the team will in fact trade Anquan Boldin next year.
Look for the Cardinals to give the Saints everything they can handle next week.
Niel Rackers Makes Just One Field Goal
This wasn’t a good year for Niel Rackers and he missed one of his two opporunities in this game. In the regular season Rackers only received 17 opportunties, partly because of injury. To his credit he made 16 of them so it’s hard to blame him.
If Kurt Warner returns next year expect Rackers to have another down year in Arizona.
