Chargers- Redskins: Billy Volek Leads Victory | NFL Fantasy Football Rankings

Washington Redskins v San Diego Chargers

The Chargers rested their main starters after the first quarter of this game yet still came out on top in the end.

Eleven In a Row

Look for the Chargers to have a solid playoff run as they’ve now won eleven games in a row and look like a team that can’t be stopped. This week backup quarterback Billy Volek led the Chargers to a comeback win as he leaned on players like Malcom Floyd.

Floyd had a big game with Vincent Jackson out of the lineup as he posted nine receptions for 140 yards receiving.

This victory just goes to show you that this team not only has solid starters, but they also have capable backup players as well. Look for the Chargers as a decent team to draft players from in fantasy football playoff leagues this coming week.

Malcolm Kelly Makes Big Play

Washington Redskins v San Diego Chargers

This has been a slow season for second year receiver Malcolm Kelly, but he did finish his season on a high note. For the game Kelly had five catches for 109 yards. His big day was highlighted by a very nice play down the field that went for an 84 yard catch and helped set him team up inside the red zone.

It remains to be seen if the Redskins new head coach (Jim Zorn fired) will keep Kelly or Devin Thomas around for the up coming season.

Personally, I would expect both receivers back on the team next year, but if they start slacking off at any time their jobs will probably be lost. Simply put, these two receivers need to put up or shut up next season as both will be in their all important third year in the NFL.
