Ravens- Patriots: Ray Rice Runs Wild | NFL Playoff Fantasy Football
Coming into this contest, Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady never lost a home playoff game in his great career. Not only that but the Patriots were undefeated this year at home.
Unfortunately, for the Patriots the Ravens didn’t seem to care as they pounded the football and harassed Brady all game long.
Ray Rice Breaks Out
Hopefully, you weren’t like me and made a change to your playoff fantasy football team and benched Ray Rice. I made a grave mistake in thinking that the Ravens wouldn’t win this game and in my league you get docked for your player losing the game.
Rice had a fabulous game as he went for an 83-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage in the game. From that point on the Ravens never looked back and Rice accumulated 22 carries for 159 yards and two touchdowns.
Julian Edelman, The Next Wes Welker
The Patriots will not have a truly healthy Wes Welker until the 2011 NFL season because of his horrible knee injury. This injury has opened the door for young receiver Julian Edelman to show his stuff.
Last week Edelman had ten receptions and over 100 yards receiving against the Texans. This week Edelman had six receptions and two touchdown catches. Look for Edelman to be the starting receiver on this team opposite Randy Moss at the start of the 2010 NFL season.
Ravens Give Brady Problems
Not only did the Ravens apply pressure on Brady all day, but they also picked him off three times and forced a stripe fumble.
This was a dominant performance against a hall of fame quarterback at his home field. Next week the Ravens will have to repeat this performance as the face Peyton Manning and the Colts in Indianapolis.
