Vikings-Cowboys: Favre & Rice Beat Dallas | 2010 NFL Playoff Fantasy Football
Just like the Saints and Colts, the Vikings came out on fire in their first playoff game and torched their opponent. The Cowboys were over matched by a dominant Vikings’ defense, and they couldn’t stop Brett Favre.
Favre To Rice
There is no doubt which wide receiver Favre likes to throw to the most and that is third year man Sidney Rice. In this contest Rice did what DeSean Jackson failed to do against this defense and that was to make plays down the field.
Rice had six receptions for 141 yards and three touchdown grabs. The final touchdown put the game away for good as Favre found Rice for a touchdown bomb from over 40 yards out.
While Favre and Rice had spectacular performances I would still like to see running back Adrian Peterson get things going next week against the
Saints. Sooner or later this team is going to be challenged to run the football in order to win and at that time it will be imperative that All Day performs at a high level.
Vikings Defense Dominates
The Vikings offensive passing attack had a great game, but they were topped by the defense. The Vikings’ defense shut down the Cowboys all day long and only allowed three points for the game.
Cowboys running back Felix Jones had the best day in Dallas’s offense with 69 yards rushing but a decent amount of those yards came when the game was out of hand.
If the Vikings continue to play at this level on defense, they will be Super Bowl bound.
