Jermichael Finley To Start In 2010 | NFL Fantasy Rankings

Packers' Jermichael Finley is tackled by Cardinals' Hamza Abdullah in Arizona

It shouldn’t be a major surprise but Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has officially announced that tight end Jermichael Finley will start next season. Finley took most of the work away from veteran Donald Lee as the 2009 season progressed.

The final nail in the coffin for Lee had to come when Finley posted a magnificent game in the playoffs against the Arizona Cardinals. In that wild contest, Finley posted six receptions for massive 159 receiving yards.

His dominance in that game proved what kind of game breaking ability this young 22 year old (23 in March) has. In fact, Finley in all reality took over the starting job early last season as he started in 10 of the 13 games he played in.

If you include Finley’s start in the playoffs, he totaled 61 receptions for 835 yards and five touchdowns in only eleven starts.

As long as Finley can stay healthy he should only improve on those numbers as he is in one of the more pass friendly offenses in all of fantasy football. Even though the tight end position saw its share of big performances at the tight end position last year, Finley is probably going to be a top five tight end coming into this year fantasy drafts.
