WR Demaryius Thomas Breaks Foot | 2010 Draft Projections
For the second NFL draft in a row a primer receiver has a broken foot and will not participate in the NFL combine. Georgia Tech’s product Demaryius Thomas broke his foot this past week while getting ready for the draft.
A projected late first round pick, Thomas will now see his draft stock drop now that he is out for the next four to six weeks.
Last year a doctor discovered that Michael Crabtree had a break in his foot and the star receiver opted for surgery to take care of the injury. This setback probably cost Crabtree a top five selection in the draft, and he was selected tenth overall.
If Thomas falls into the late second round, one has to wonder if he might try to hold out for more money like Crabtree did last year. It’s hard to imagine any hold out lasting as long as Crabtree’s did a season ago, however.
Hopefully, Thomas has his injury heeled and ready to go by the time OTA’s being so that he can get ready to help his new team. If Thomas has a good summer, he could help fantasy football owners in spots next season.
