DE Aaron Kampman Headed To Jaguars | 2010 NFL Free Agency

Green Bay Packers v Seattle Seahawks

Last season the Jaguars’ defense was a complete joke when it came to rushing the passer as they totaled only 14 sacks on the entire season. With such a horrible total, it’s a wonder that coach Jake Del Rio even kept his job as he is supposed to be defensive minded.

While the Jaguars’ defense struggled mightily, help is on the way with defensive addition Aaron Kampman from Green Bay. Before the Packers moved Kampman out of position and into a linebacker spot (changed from a 4-3 to 3-4) last year the defensive end totaled 37 sacks between 2006 and 2008.

Heck in 2006, Kampman had more sacks (15) than the Jaguars totaled as a team all together last season! With a return to the defensive line, there is no doubt that the Jaguars have given themselves a true pass rusher that offenses have to take into account.

Still, the Jaguars need to be more aggressive and continue to build the defense in free agency and the draft. If this team has hopes of making the playoffs, they need to have a top ten defense.
