RB LaDainian Tomlinson Signs With New York Jets

NFL Divisional Playoffs - New York Jets v San Diego Chargers

In the past week former Charger great LaDainian Tomlinson visited the Vikings and the Jets as possible options to sign with as a free agent. After meeting with both teams Tomlinson went home to make a decision on where he was going to sign. Now, the information has broken that Tomlinson has decided to sign a two year deal with the New York Jets.

This move instantly hurts the up swing fantasy value that Shonn Greene received with the departure of Thomas Jones at the start of the month.

Now, Greene, Tomlinson and Leon Washington will fight for carries in a three headed monster of a back field. Don’t be surprised if Tomlinson makes his way into the starting lineup as he is still good enough to take touches away from the potentially more productive Greene.

Tomlinson also will take away touchdown opportunities from the young runner as he’s always been a stable option to score around the goal line.

The other problem for Greene is that Tomlinson isn’t likely to miss a bunch of games because he is one of those players that finds a way on the field most every week.

It’s amazing but in just a few weeks Greene has gone from a mid round fantasy draft pick to a solid fourth round pick back to a mid round pick. It just goes to show you that fantasy values can change at any moment, and many times it has nothing to do with a particular players’ ability.
