The top official 40 times are finally in for the defensive players that will be drafted at the 2010 NFL draft. See which linebackers, safeties and corner backs made the top of the list.

Taylor Mays Ties Record, Then Doesn’t Come Close

In one of the biggest blunders of all time at the combine, NFL network unofficially clocked USC safety Taylor Mays at a 4.24 at the 40. That number would tie Titans running back Chris Johnson’s record and would make Mays stock rise extremely fast.

Later in the day the official time for Mays was still good for him but wasn’t even close to the 4.24, as they gave him a 4.43. That number isn’t even close to the record. Most of the time the unofficial time isn’t that much different than the official time.

Anyway Mays should still be the second safety draft this year.
