2010 NFL Draft Picks: Oakland Raiders Selections – Results
Throughout the three days of the NFL draft, we will be updating this page for the Oakland Raiders every night to give you analysis for the picks they took. On Thursday NFL teams will only select players in the first round of the draft. On Friday, they will all select their second and third round picks.
Saturday each team will finish of its draft by selecting players through rounds four to seven. Enjoy the draft and come back here later to see our take on players selected for the Oakland Raiders.
Before The Draft: Rumors of the Raiders making a move for Big Ben are all but washing out. This team needs a new young quarterback now that JaMarcus Russell is a clear and total bust. More help on the defensive tackle area would be of great help to stop the run as well.
First Round
8. Oakland Raiders: LB Rolando McClain: The Raiders have been aggressive on adding defense this offseason and McClain is another strong addition from Alabama. This was a minor surprise but then again it’s the Raiders. Look for McClain to be a very good addition to the Raiders.
Second Round
44 Raiders Select: DT Lamarr Houston - The Raiders needed an inside player and they got it with Houston. This defense won’t be a pushover in 2010 and beyond.
Rounds Three – Seven
Round 3, Pick 5 (69) Jared Veldheer OT
Round 4, Pick 8 (106) Bruce Campbell OT – The Raiders did a good job drafting Veldheer and Campbell in the third and fourth round. Campbell is a leader and should be a good player for a fourth rounder.
Round 4, Pick 10 (108) Jacoby Ford WR
Round 5, Pick 7 (138) Walter McFadden DB
Round 6, Pick 21 (190) Travis Goethel LB
Round 7, Pick 8 (215) Jeremy Ware DB
Round 7, Pick 44 (251) Stevie Brown DB
