Buccaneers Committee: Cadillac Williams & Derrick Ward

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Seattle Seahawks

If Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris manages his running game the way he did at the end of last season, Cadillac Williams and Derrick Ward will be in a committee.  This wouldn’t be a surprise as Tampa had success towards the end of the year using both runners together.

While Williams had a nice comeback last season after all his injury problems over the years’, he wasn’t the same feature back from his rookie season. This isn’t surprising as Williams knee problems were thought to end his career a few times already and the fact that he’s still playing is impressive.

For Ward, he has had very sound success in the past as the  backup to Brandon Jacobs with the Giants. To see the Bucs only use Ward for 114 carries last season was a surprise after they gave him a nice contract as a free agent.

Expect both runners to play in a more balance running attack as the team will need to run first with young Josh Freeman under center.

2010 Fantasy Projection

Both runners will probably be selected in twelve team formats this up coming fantasy season. However, neither of these runners are good for more than a bye week fill in or the occasional easy match play for the 2010 -2011 season.

Unless one of these backs (could very well be Cadillac) fall to injury, don’t expect a strong fantasy performance from both players.
