Houton Texans: RB Ben Tate’s Fantasy Projection – Impact

Outback Bowl - Northwestern Wildcats v Auburn Tigers

Anyone that has stayed up to date with the NFL this offseason knew that the Houston Texans would add a running back early at the 2010 draft. Many believed they would select Fresno State star Ryan Mathews but the Chargers jump in front and selected him before the Texans first pick.

Upon the Texans first selection I thought they might go with Jahvid Best, but instead they decided to fill the void at corner back that was left by former starter Daunta Robinson.

In the second round, they draft Ben Tate to be their starting running back this season. Sure, Tate hasn’t won the job just yet, but he is a clear favorite with Steve Slaton recovering from a bad neck injury.

Slaton won’t partake in any physical drills until July at the earliest. With this setback in Slaton’s career, he is expected to be the teams third down runner for at least this season.

Look for Tate to get every opportunity to be the teams starting tailback and top bet for goal line touchdowns this up coming season.
