Jason Campbell To Oakland Raiders In Trade

Washington Redskins v San Diego Chargers

In what could be the end of JaMarcus Russell as a relevant option as an NFL quarterback, the Raiders have traded for quarterback Jason Campbell. In all reality, Russell’s reliance was probably washed up even before this move but until the Raiders committed to another quarterback, he still had a chance.

To acquire Campbell the Raiders only gave up a fourth round pick in the 2012 draft. While Campbell should start for the Raiders this season, he may have continued problems as the Raiders don’t have a good pass blocking offensive line.

Still, this is an upgrade in talent for the Raiders, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Russell isn’t on the Raiders past this season.
