K Neil Rackers Goes To Houston Texans

Super Bowl XLIII

Last season Houston Texans long time kicker Kris Brown missed eleven field goals on the year and a few of them were clutch kicks at the end of games to either win or tie. Those misses cost the Houston the playoffs as they dropped a few valuable games. Now, the organization has signed former Cardinals’ kicker Neil Rackers for the next two season to compete with Brown for the job.

This news is not good for Brown, and if he doesn’t start kicking well, he probably won’t be on the team for the 2010 – 2011 season.

While Rackers didn’t miss many field goals with the Cardinals in past few seasons, he hasn’t received many opportunities to help his team or fantasy owners. If Rackers lands on the Texans for good this season, he should be a top ten fantasy option on this offense.

Brown received over thirty field goal opportunities last season and whomever kicks for the Texans this year will get around that amount again in 2010.
