St. Louis Rams Offense & QB Sam Bradford | 2010 NFL Fantasy Projections
The St. Louis Rams decided to draft a franchise quarterback with the first overall pick in Sam Bradford from Oklahoma. For a team that needs help all over the field, selecting Bradford is a hope for the future that may never come if he can’t stay healthy throughout his career.

This is why I believe the Rams did a good job in selecting offensive tackle Rodger Saffold with their second round pick, and they add two tight ends in the later rounds as well. Bradford will not only need good protection at the line, but he needs time to understand the pro game.
Because of this and the fact that Bradford miss most of his final year in college with a shoulder injury, I hope the Rams’ use A.J. Feely at quarterback to start the season. These were the same words I used with last years top quarterback Matthew Stafford as I thought it would be a good idea to start Daunte Culpepper.
Stafford started from day one, and even though he played well at times, he was beaten up and missed time because of injury throughout the season.
Bradford will have his lumps as his team continues to grow in talent, and he begins his progression as an NFL quarterback, I just hope the Rams are smart enough to give him at least the first half of this season to sit back and learn on the sidelines.
Not only would Bradford have time to mature on the sideline, but his offensive line (they have talent) will have time to gel and work in some type of harmony. If the offensive line can provide time in the pocket for Feely, they will be able to do it for Bradford. If not, early on, then at least it will be Feely that will take the unnecessary punishment and not the franchise quarterback.
Be smart Rams, start Feely for the first half of the season. PLEASE!!!! (and I’m a 49er fan, for crying out loud)
