WR Brandon LaFell Could Start For Carolina Panthers

LSU v Alabama

The Carolina Panthers received two gifts on draft day as quarterback Jimmy Clausen fell to them in the second round and receiver Brandon LaFell came their way in the third round. LaFell was a solid receiver at LSU, and I was impressed with his ability to run good routes and catch just about everything that came close to him.

With the Panthers’ decision not to bring back veteran Muhsin Muhammad (37-years old) the Panthers have a wide open competition for their No.2 spot in the passing game. USC standout Dwayne Jarrett will have first rights to be the starter as head coach John Fox is very loyal to veterans but if Jarrett fails to impress, LaFell should be next in line.

Look for LaFell to be active in the Panthers’ offense this season, even if he doesn’t start as he is ready to make an impact with an NFL team right away.
