Panthers OTA – Mini Camp Notes
May 5th, QB Jimmy Clausen Impresses Coaches
During early mini camps rookie quarterback Jimmy Clausen is already impressing his coaching staff. This really shouldn’t come as a surprise as various analysts had Clausen as the top “pro ready” quarterback in the 2010 class.
What is, and should remain surprising for a long time is that Clausen fell all the way out of the first round and into the middle of the second round. Expect Clausen to continue to force Matt Moore to play well if he wants to keep his job throughout the 2010 – 2011 NFL season.
May 5th, WR Armani Edwards
Armani Edwards has reportadly looked electrifying so far in rookie camp. While Edwards is looking good, it is still early for the raw talent. Look for fellow rookie Brandon LaFell to be the serious receiver to challenge Dwayne Jarrett for a starting job this up coming season.
Edwards will probably take some time to develop before he is ready to be a serious fantasy sleeper.
