Dolphins OTA – Mini Camp Notes

May 5th, Jared Odrick To Compete For End Position

The Dolphins are looking to use first round pick Jared Odrick as a defensive end in their three – four scheme. He will compete with Phillip Merling, Tony McDaniel and Lionel Dotson for the starting right end job. Look for Odrick to win this job as the Dolphins need his help right away.

May 9th, Pennington Healing

Quarterback Chad Pennington is expected to be ready to make a return to the field by training camp in July. With so many shoulder injury’s, Pennington is nothing more than a backup quarterback at this point in his career. In light of this news, Pennington also resigned with the Dolphins.

May 16th, Allen Moving To Safety?

Will Allen is considering a move to safety as the Dolphins already have Smith and Davis penciled in as the teams starting corners.

May 19th, Brandon Marshall Has Another Hip Surgery

While the team is calling Brandon Marshall’s second hip surgery in as many years “routine” this is something to keep an eye on. Marshall has plenty of time to get healthy before the season gets going so we will see if is ready to go by August.

May 19th, Ronnie Brown Practicing

It’s good to see Ronnie Brown already back in practice and getting ready for the season. With so many injury concerns it’s a good thing the team still has Ricky Williams around.
