DeSean Jackson celebrates his touchdown against the Giants in Philadelphia

2009 Fantasy Year In Review: DeSean Jackson broke-out in a big way during his second season as a pro with over 1,000 yards receiving and ten (not including special teams) total touchdowns. Only Randy Moss comes to mind as a receiver that has the kind of game breaking ability as Jackson and Moss is getting older.

With the ability to score from anywhere on a football field, fantasy owners came to believe he could post a huge game at any time. This kind of play, makes Jackson one of those players you dread facing when your matchup against him in head to head leagues.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: If Donovan McNabb was with the Eagles, I would like Jackson’s odds of posting another big season much better. Still, Kevin Kolb did show he could make Jackson a very productive fantasy receiver in the two games he started last year.

Both games Jackson broke down the defense for big play touchdowns and that has to make fantasy owners feel good about this connection for the 2010 season. While there is some doubt about Jackson repeating, I’m willing to bet he’s going to be just fine in the Eagles pass heavy offense.

Obviously, if you’re in a fantasy league that gives points for yardage or touchdowns scores for special teams play, Jackson is even more valuable.
