2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Todd Heap bounced back in 2009 to post six touchdowns and close to 600 yards receiving as Joe Flacco continued to mature. This was Heap’s second year in a row in which he played all sixteen games as he finally recovered from a nasty back injury.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Heap is getting close to the end of his six year contract, he signed with the Ravens in 2005. With this in mind it’s no wonder why the Ravens selected two productive pass catchers out of college in Ed Dickson (Oregon) and Dennis Pitta (BYU) at the draft.

Because of the talent now behind Heap his days as a fantasy relevant player are all but over with this team as these two youngsters will stunt his stats. By next season, I wouldn’t be surprised if Heap is gone from the Ravens as Dickson and Pitta should be clearly ready to take over in this offense.

Heap has had a great career in Baltimore but the ride is soon ending and fantasy owners shouldn’t look forward to Heap as anything more than a backup in deep leagues.
