2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Amazingly Devery Henderson spent another year as the Saints No.2 starter as he started eleven of the teams sixteen regular season games. For the first time in Henderson’s career, he posted over 32 receptions in a season as he finished with 51.

Henderson has always been one of Drew Brees’s explosive weapons down the field, and he did post over 800 yards but he only had two touchdowns. This is probably, what has plagued Henderson from being a fantasy relevant option as he just can’t produce a decent touchdown total throughout his career.

2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Henderson isn’t worth a draft day selection at this time but if Robert Meachem should have continued problems in his recovery from toe surgery it would help his value. Meachem was expected to unseat Henderson from the starting job this year after he made strides last season.

It will be an interesting challenge to see if Meachem can play with his explosive speed on a toe problem. For Henderson, it is encouraging that he had a strong catch total last year. This shows he could stay involved in the offense for more than just his deep ball abilities.

Still even if Meachem is out with a toe problem this year he will have to show is touchdown totals are more consistent before he’s an option to use in your fantasy league.
