WR Dwayne Jarrett NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings
2009 Fantasy Year In Review: Dwayne Jarrett had another unproductive season with the Panthers as the team hardly used him in a backup role. Muhsin Muhammad was still starting opposite Steve Smith and the Panthers tend to use two tight ends instead of three receivers on the field.
In all respects Muhammad probably shouldn’t have been starting for the team but Coach John Fox is extremely loyal to his veterans. All you have to do is look at how long he used Jake Delhomme last year over Matt Moore to see that.
2010 NFL Fantasy Football Player Rankings: Jarrett is slated as being the teams starting receiver now that Muhammed has retired from football. Some talk has floated around that Jarrett is on the bubble and may be cut by the end of August. The main thinking for this is because the team added three receivers this offseason and rookies Brandon LaFell and Armantie Edwards have been impressive.
I don’t believe that will happen as I have a hard time seeing Coach Fox roll with a rookie opposite Smith. It would also be a sad thing to see Jarrett never have a true chance to prove himself as he’s been stuck behind veterans for his young career. Hopefully, the Panthers will give him a shot as I think he can be a productive player.
