Since tackles are the big deal in tackle heavy IDP fantasy football you need some players that can rack up the numbers and without help from fellow teammates. This is why IDP options like strong safety Tyvon Branch was such a nice player to have as he consistently pounded out the production with the Raiders. For all the tackles a defensive back can rack up it is still nice to have a back that not only tackles but can make some plays as well and that is why Texans Bernard Pollard is our top IDP defensive back.

Pollard was released by the Chiefs last offseason and was picked up by the Texans. Many IDP fantasy owners didn’t even see Pollard selected in draft so he became a waiver wire sensation in 2009. This is the kind of production you will need if you’re going to have a successful staff of IDP players on your squad.
