2010 Standard Fantasy Football League Results – 14 Team August Mock Draft
Mock Draft Notes:
Andre Johnson
I have no problem with fantasy owners selecting Andre Johnson in the top six picks when it comes to PPR leagues because the man has put together two strong years in this area and should do it again. My big problem with Johnson (or any receiver) going that high in standard leagues is that he won’t receive the point per reception, and that is going to hurt his value by around 100 points.
Don’t be the person who takes Johnson that high in a standard league as your odds of making the playoffs with go down dramatically because you did. Especially if you’re in a 14 team league like the mock draft above.
With good running backs to have in a big league like this you need to nab them up before they are gone. You’re going to have to wait a long time until your next turn comes around, and if you don’t have the running it could vary well be gone before you get a chance to draft again.
Arian Foster vs. Ben Tate
Don’t fool yourself into thinking that Ben Tate is close to starting over Arian Foster in the Texans’ offense. Foster came on strong at the end of last year and Tate has been slow to pick things up in camp.
Even Head Coach Gary Kubiak came out and said that Tate has a long way to go, so keep that in mind on draft day.
I really don’t like the Texans’ offense in terms of running the football, but if you’re going to get anyone in this ground attack it should be Foster.
