Brandon Jackson In, Ryan Grant Out
Every year top star fantasy players from the previous season fall to injury and week one Ryan Grant was the victim. Unfortunately, for many Grant owners they won’t have the first waiver option and won’t have the fortune of getting Jackson as a pickup.

This will hurt those teams but for those of you that get Jackson, he should be a decent option to start. That is, assuming the Packers don’t bring in another running back via trade like Marshawn Lynch of the Bills.
This offseason Coach McCarthy came out and noted that Jackson could be an every down back should something happen to Grant. While I am concerned about Jackson’s yard per carry average this season (only a 3 yard average in 2009) he should be a steady starting fantasy player going forward.
The Packers have one of the more explosive offenses in football and this coming week they get the Bills at home. Buffalo will be without their star inside linebacker Paul Posluszny, and that means Jackson will be worth using this week.
If Jackson should play well and remain as the teams main option on the ground, I would consider you view him as a nice flex play option for 2010. He may lose touchdown opportunities at times but overall he should post good yardage numbers.
