2010 Week Four – Wk 4 PPR Fantasy Football Player Rankings, Projections
Injuries continue to add up in the running game as Steven Jackson, Jahvid Best and Ray Rice are all highly questionable for this week. Of the three, Rice may have the best chance to play, but he will have to face the Steelers and that will be a difficult matchup.
While fantasy owners need to be concerned for those players it looks like Michael Turner is fine after his groin injury from week two. Turner ran the football 30 times against the Saints for over 100 yards and a touchdown score. As long as we see on side effects this week in practice it is safe to consider Turner fully healthy.
Ryan Mathews, on the other hand, is hopeful he can comeback from his high ankle sprain injury from week two but that isn’t a given. Mathews said on Monday that he is hoping to practice on Wednesday. One thing I can tell you about the injury is that a player can feel like they can play with it but once they start practicing its a different story.
On top of that (like we found out with Michael Turner last year) when the player gets back on the field and starts taking hits to the ankle it’s even more concerning to put him in your lineup.
This will be the case for Andre Johnson, as well as he played on his high ankle sprain last week and reaggravated the injury against the Cowboys. Johnson probably won’t be the receiver fantasy owners expect him to be until this injury is fully healed. That could be awhile but if he’s on the football field, he can still be productive.
