Positional IDP Player Rankings: Week 4

With our first round of bye weeks here in Week 4, depth starts to become a question. It depends on your league, but if a guy has a bye, I sometimes like to roll the dice and just cut him and maybe I get him back, maybe I don’t.

Some of you may be playing in a league where that just isn’t an option. The big three positions that should be considered for drops are backup tight ends, backup kickers, and backup defenses. Let’s face it, kickers are a dime a dozen, a backup kicker is pointless. Unless you’ve got someone very special in these spots, cut them with confidence.

But, IDPs really are relatively unpredictable. Guys get hot and cold, certain opponents dictate different schemes and approaches. These sorts of things can vary widely from week to week so don’t feel so obligated to be loyal to a guy who had one or two good weeks but begins to struggle. Nothing worse than clinging to the past when it comes to fantasy football. Or anything else for that matter.

Matt De Lima is the guy behind the guy behind the guy. Born and raised near Los Angeles, CA during simpler times where the Rams and Raiders both played there. Back when Eddie Murphy was funny and people still listened to Whitney Houston's music. A graduate of Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!), he's played fantasy sports for the last 10 years and began writing down his opinions in 2010. You remember that fantasy football league you were in last season, there was that one team that somehow had Aaron Rodgers, Chris Johnson, and Andre Johnson? Matt was that guy.
