Defensive Lineman

Chris Kelsay @ Chiefs: Chris Kelsay could be eligible for defensive end or linebacker in your IDP fantasy league. For fantasy purposes, Kelsay is really only worth using as an end. If you need someone to help you cover for a bye week loss, give Kelsay a shot against the Chiefs.

Jared Allen @ Patriots: Ok, maybe you shouldn’t bench Jared Allen if you don’t have a productive option to use over him. I’m sure you’ve been disappointed this season as he only has one sack and if averaging like one tackle in the past few weeks.

If you can use someone else it might be a good idea to sit Allen until he starts playing like his former self.

James Laurinatis vs Panthers: The Rams talented young linebackers has picked it up of late, and he should have a decent game against the Panthers. Laurinatis tends to have better games when he faces a team that wants to run the football and throw the short passing game.

LaMarr Woodley @ Saints: Many held out hope for LaMarr Woodley in that he would unseat James Harrison as the top outside linebacker for IDP on the Steelers. Woodley had a strong end of the year in 2009 and may do that again in 2010.

Right now, Woodley isn’t putting up the numbers fantasy owners need, and a hamstring injury will limit him against the Saints.

Defensive Backs

Nate Clements vs Broncos: I’m not much of a fan of the way Nate Clements plays football, but he’s having a solid IDP season. This week the 49ers will face a pass heavy team in the Broncos and Clements will get many opportunities to produce.

Alterraun Verner vs Chargers: Verner had a nice run early in the season, but he’s failed to produce over the past few weeks. Verner needs to show more in the way of tackles before he can be counted on as more than a bye week fill in.
