Positional IDP Rankings: Week 9
So Week 9 officially brings us to the midpoint of the season. Eight weeks have passed and there are eight more weeks after this. Where are we? What kind of observations can we make about IDPs?
This season, it’s clear that system, scheme and coaching are a big part of what makes some of these guys successful. No matter who Pittsburgh sticks in those linebacker spots, they’re going to get the job done year in and year out. Same could be said about Tennessee’s Stephen Tulloch who is really making a name for himself this season.
The big disappointment has to go to Jared Allen. One sack so far? Unacceptable. In IDP fantasy football keeper leagues, this guy burned a lot of people. Sure, Patrick Willis and Jon Beason aren’t their usual selves but Allen has fallen completely off the map.
And finally what were the Patriots thinking trading Richard Seymour? 31 tackles, 4.5 sacks at the halfway point out of the DT spot is very good. And while I’m speaking about special defensive tackles, how about rookie Ndamukong Suh out of Nebraska? 26 tackles, 6.5 sacks, a fumble recovery and an interception to boot. This young kid is special. Detroit has a Hall of Fame caliber defensive tackle in him and of course, that’s a presumptuous and bold statement to make after eight weeks of football. But the kid is really that good.
