Quarterbacks
Start
Mark Sanchez vs Texans: I wouldn’t bet on Mark Sanchez as a starting quarterback for your fantasy squad every week going forward but against the Texans, he should be good. This defense has had a horrible time stopping all passing attacks and even gave up a hail marry touchdown to the Jaguars last week.
With Santonio Holmes stepping up the past few weeks, Sanchez is gaining value as a fantasy option.
Bench
Matt Schaub @ Jets: The Texans’ quarterback Matt Schaub hasn’t had the season he had a year ago but of late he’s played well. This week shouldn’t be a solid performance as this passing attack struggled last year against the Jets. Look for Andre Johnson to have an average game and for Schaub to struggle finding the end zone.
Running Backs
Start
Brandon Jackson @ Vikings: The last time Brandon Jackson played the Vikings I recommended that fantasy owners keep him on the bench. In that game, Jackson had a respectable day, and if you normally start this runner then feel free to get him in the lineup.
Bench
Marshawn Lynch @ Saints: The Seahawks brought Marshawn Lynch on the team to be the top runner but of late Justin Forsett is taking away valuable touches. Lynch may plunge in a touchdown, but he probably won’t get enough carries to gain respectable yardage.
Wide Receivers
Start
Randy Moss vs Redskins: This has been a bad season for Randy Moss, but it could finish with a strong stretch run with the Titans. The Redskins defense h asbeen torched by receivers like Moss and fantasy owners have to give him a shot in this matchup.
Bench
Steve Smith (Car) vs Ravens: Another year and another hard luck situation for Steve Smith with his quarterback. With Matt Moore done for the year Smith just isn’t worth using. Even Jimmy Clausen is probably going to miss this game and that leaves yet another rookie to run the offense. Keep Smith on the bench for awhile.
