Quarterbacks

Matt Cassel: I talked about Matt Cassel last week, and it’s time to consider putting him in your lineup the rest of the way. Cassel is known for hot ends to the season as we saw him post solid numbers with the Patriots two years ago. With Dwayne Bowe playing out of his mind, Cassel is a good bet for consistent production.

Jay Cutler: The ups and downs have continued from 2009 into this year for Jay Cutler and the Bears’ passing game. Still, Cutler had a solid December last season and is obviously hot after his four touchdown performance against the Eagles. This week Cutler gets his favorite team to beat up on in the Lions.

Running Backs

Toby Gerhart: It looks like the early reports on Adrian Peterson’s ankle are that he is expected to play this week. Still, fantasy owners need to stash Gerhart because ankle injuries can be a problem and if Peterson suffers a setback, Gerhart will be worth using as a flex play.

Brian Westbrook: With Frank Gore going down with a hip injury on Monday night football, Brian Westbrook came in and had a good game. Look for Westbrook to be the main option in the running game if Gore should miss anymore time.

Wide Receivers

Ben Obomanu: With Mike Williams down because of injury it is Ben Obomanu that is stepping up and producing solid numbers. In the last three weeks Obomanu has at least four catches and 60 yards. Last week, Obomanu had a huge game with five catches for 159 yards receiving and a long touchdown.

Look for the Seahawks to keep Obomanu productive this week against the Panthers as they need to air it out to compete.

Team Defense

Chargers vs Raiders: After the Chargers defense dominated Peyton Manning and the Colts, they make for a hot group coming into week thirteen. This week the Chargers will face the struggling Raiders offense and Jason Campbell is expected to start a quarterback after Bruce Gradkowski suffered another injury.

Look for the Chargers’ defense to have a field day if the Raiders can’t establish a ground attack.
