Week 14 Playoff Waiver Wire Pickups
Many fantasy football leagues will start their respective fantasy playoffs during week fourteen. To help you get set for the final stretch, we have a few hot names on the to run after on the waiver wire. While it is good to find a hot hand at the end of the season, I usually recommend you go with the players that made your team successful throughout the season.
As we head into Championship weekend (usually week sixteen) it is worth taking a look a which players could receive rest because their team has things wrapped up. For 2010, many teams will have much to play for into the final weeks as we don’t have teams like the Colts and Saints running away with their divisions as was the case last year.
Tashard Choice: The Cowboys wanted to get Tashard Choice more involved in the offense moving forward. Why it takes this team so long to use Choice is beyond me (money invested in Barber), but it should be no surprise that the talented tailback had a strong game against the Colts. Choice can be a useful flex play option if a starter on your team suffers an injury.
James Starks @ Lions: The Packers have been waiting for rookie James Starks to get healthy all season. If you happened to watch the Packers play the 49ers on Sunday it was easy to see that Starks is the best talent this team has to run the football. Against a respectable 49ers defense, Starks posted 18 carries for 73 yards and should be a decent flex play against the Lions next week.
Anthony Dixon: The 49ers had a tough matchup against the Packers run defense and Brian Westbrook failed to produce productive numbers. If Westbrook should struggle with health issues, Anthony Dixon would have fresh legs coming into the final month of the season. Stash Dixon, he could reward you at some point during the playoffs.
Sidney Rice: Some fantasy owners may have given up on Sidney Rice after a few quite weeks to start his comeback at the end of November. With Tavaris Jackson under center, Rice posted a big game against the Bills with 105 yards receiving and two spectacular touchdown catches. It looks like Rice is a good bet to post a strong end to the season so get him in your lineup.
