Week 15 Start’em Sit’em – Playoff Edition
With the second round of the fantasy football playoffs coming up, most owners that are still alive will be going with their usual lineup. For those of you that may need some help because of injury or recent ineffective play, these start – sit option are good to keep in mind.
Joe Flacco vs Saints: The Ravens are going to need Joe Flacco to post a strong game in order to beat the red hot Saints. With the Ravens defense struggling in the passing game, the Ravens offense will be forced to score around thirty points to win the game.
Kyle Orton: The fun is over for Kyle Orton and the Broncos passing game. I held out hope that Orton would get things going again with a good matchup against the Cardinals’ defense but that didn’t happen. With things crumbling in Denver, it seems the only player fantasy owners can trust is Knowshon Moreno going forward.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis vs Packers: The Patriots are on fire and with blowout wins against the Jets and Bears, it is very likely that BenJarvus Green-Ellis will get a bunch of carries. Aaron Rodgers may miss this game and if that happens the Packers should be blown out early in the second quarter. Look for Green-Ellis to take the football over twenty times and get a score.
Tim Hightower @ Panthers: Chris “Beanie” Wells hasn’t been healthy all year since suffering a knee injury just before the season began. While Tim Hightower hasn’t been a great option to start all year he did have a huge game last week against the Broncos. Next on the schedule is the Panthers, and no team has given up more fantasy points to running backs than this team in 2010.
Jahvid Best @ Buccaneers: The Lions’ rookie running back Jahvid Best has shown explosion over the past two weeks and should go over 100 total yards against the Buccaneers. Last week, Ryan Torain rushed for over 170 yards against this group and made it look way too easy by raking up over 100 in the first quarter.
Matt Forte @ Vikings: The Bears have failed to get Matt Forte going more weeks than not, and now he is losing goal line work to Chester Taylor. It’s time to go with another option when the Bears play teams that have a respectable defense against the run.
Malcom Floyd vs 49ers: The Chargers are finally getting healthy at receiver last week as Malcom Floyd scored two touchdowns against the Chiefs. This week the 49ers come to town, and they have had problems for years with stopping the vertical passing game.
Look for Floyd to post a strong game as Phillip Rivers will be gunning down the field early and often.
Mike Williams (Tampa Bay) vs Lions: This should be a good matchup for Mike Williams, but it will be Arrelious Benn that you will want at receiver for this game. Mike Williams suffered an injury in practice last week and had one of his worst statlines of the season against the Redskins.
