Week 14 IDP Playoff Waiver Wire Pickups
[picappgallerysingle id=”10098475″]Many IDP fantasy football leagues will get their playoffs underway this coming weekend. For those of you that are still looking for some help down the stretch this article is for you. Every year we have various IDP fantasy options come out of nowhere to help owners win championships down the stretch. With this in mind it is always a good idea to stack your roster with fresh talent to at least take it away from fellow opponents.
DT Mike Patterson: (If you start ad DT position) The Eagles talented defensive tackle Mike Patterson got off to a slow start for IDP this year with injuries and poor stat lines. Of late, Patterson is looking strong as he has a sack in each of his past two games. Look for the Eagles’ defense to attack the quarterback more often as we head closer to the end of the season. Patterson is now playing well and can be a decent fit if your required to start a defensive tackle in your league.
DE Cliff Avril: I was hot on Cliff Avril last week and recommended IDP fantasy owners pick him up for an appealing matchup against the Bears. Avril rewarded a few of my teams with three sacks on Jay Cutler as he had a dominate performance. Look for Avril to have a strong finish to the season as he is healthy and should continue to rack up the sacks.
DE Jason Pierre-Paul: Two weeks ago ultra talented rookie Jason Pierre-Paul broke out with eight tackles and two sacks. While this was a huge game for the youngster, I wanted to see him follow that performance up with a respectable one this week. Paul did more than that with another two sacks against the Redskins. It looks like the Giants now have that key third defensive end to continually apply pressure on the quarterback.
Brandon Siler: The Chargers Brandon Siler posted a nice game against the Raiders as he filled in for inside linebacker Stephen Cooper. I’m not sure how long Cooper will be down, but if he’s out next week Siler should have another good game against the Chiefs.
David Hawthorne: Maybe David Hawthorne is just a big fan of the cold weather because he seems to play well down the stretch. For the second season in a row, Hawthorne is racking up a bunch of tackles and should only continue his solid play against the 49ers next week.
S Oshiomogho Atogwe: The Rams’ safety had been quite this season until these past two weeks. The Rams’ defense is only getting better, and I believe Oshiomogho (O.J.) Atogwe should post reliable stats moving forward. Look for St. Louis to be the favorite to win the NFC West as they are playing good football.
S Reed Doughty: The Redskins claim that LaRon Landry will be back for week fourteen but fantasy owners should take note of Reed Doughty in the past two weeks. Averaging ten tackles a game, Doughty is an easy plug and play if Landry should have to stay on your bench this week if he can’t return.
